Peshawar Death Tally Climbs To 106
PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Peshawar Death Tally Climbs To 106, Suspected militants exploded a car bomb in a market crowded with women and children today, killing 106 people and turning shops selling wedding dresses, toys and jewelry in a mass of burning waste and agencies.
Over 200 people were injured in the blast in the northwest of the main city, the deadliest in a wave of attacks this month. The government blamed militants seeking to avenge the military offensive launched last month against Al Qaeda and the Taliban in South Waziristan agency – their stronghold near the Afghan border.
