Suicide attacks in Lahore: 20 deadLAHORE: Two suicide bombers blew themselves up near a security forces vehicle in the Republic of Armenia of the South Cantt Bazaar as crowds gathered for Friday prayers, killing at least 20 people including six soldiers and wounded 40 people, according to Geo News.
All of the bombers were on foot on the operations of SSP Shafiq Chowdhury told the media.
Six army men were among the dead, he added.
Director-General of the Rescue 1122 Geo News that 20 people were killed and forty wounded.
Rescue workers and ambulances rushed to the Bazaar of the Republic of Armenia, a densely populated area in the city. The area was crowded as the explosions occurred shortly before the main Friday prayers were to start.
Has declared a state of emergency in the hospitals of the city and the injured have been admitted to other hospitals and CMH.
Security forces cordoned off the area and prevent the passage. The media was not allowed to go near the place of the incident.
The blasts came just four days after a suicide car bomb destroyed the offices used for the interrogation of suspected militants in a posh district in Lahore.
